Description Family Myrtaceae Originating from Australia Flamboyant and extra large rich, deep pink flowers are borne in profusion in mid spring on a vigorously growing large evergreen shrub with a loose and open habit. The slender, pointed, aromatic evergreen leaves emerge in a deep pink colour and mature to olive green making the perfect backdrop for its eruption of 15-20 cm long and slender flowers, loved by all pollinators. It can be pruned to keep it compact enough to grow amongst taller, more upright plants in coastal and Mediterranean style gardens, or in pots. It sometimes flowers sporadically later in the season too. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun. Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 2m x 2m.
