Description Family Asparagaceae Originating from Mexico Organised and architectural stacked layers of chunky silver leaves have a beautiful symmetry. The petal-like arrangement of silver leaves is worthy of a star-of-the-show position, whether planted out (it’s definitely one of the hardier species) or grown in a pot for placement in the garden during summer and returned to an unheated conservatory or greenhouse in colder locations. Very slow growing, eventually it may produce a spectacular 5m tall flower spike bearing numerous yellow tubular flowers, after which the rosette dies, leaving numerous suckers (pups) to continue the life of the plant. Height and spread after 10 – 20 years 60cm x 1m
