Description Family Asparagaceae Garden origin Some Agaves are a bit scary, but that’s part of the thrill of planting a dangerous, imposing looking plant (or so we think – are we crazy?) As its name suggests this is a particularly ferocious and awe inspiring ‘don’t mess with me plant’. Apple green leaves with huge teeth along their margins are recurved inwards, like a closing jaw, with a long scorpion sting-like terminal spike. Hardy enough to grow outside, with occasional harsh-condition covering, in southern and coastal regions. This new variety hasn’t flowered in the UK to our knowledge, but is likely to produce a 5m tall flower spike. Height and spread after 10 – 20 years 1.2m x 1.5m
