Description Family Pinaceae Originating from German nursery, with Southern Spanish parentage A dwarf fir of great character, formed by its horizontal and evergreen shape and robust eye-catching branching habit. The needles vary in colour from bright silver as they emerge, to a rich, grey/blue when mature. This distinctive fir is rarely seen today due to the small numbers of growers grafting plants in the UK. We are happy to bring you this plant from artisan Dutch plantsmen, which is probably 10 – 12 years old already. This form of the Spanish Fir is easy to grow and will tolerate drought once mature. Performs best in full sun in most soil types. Height and spread after 10 – 15 years if not pruned 1m x 80cm.
