Description This vintage Matryoshka originally contained a bottle of vodka, made by the Rodnik vodka distillery is in Samara, Russia. They were very popular in Canada in the 80’s and have been in production since 1895. She is hand-painted and opens to reveal a cavity perfect for storing a bottle spell!. This marvellous Russian toy should be considered a cult object for its construction and design. It is perfect for concealing spells and secrets. Traditionally carved from Birch wood which is sacred, it is believed to drive off evil spirits, the evil eye, & offer protection. It’s many layers would be perfect for any sort of Rite of Passage or transformation of self spell work.
