This one of a kind slender, tall, rectangular box that has extraordinary, unusual carvings- nettles, thorns and spikes found in nature. This clear cubed box is a larger version of our mini victorian ones, but it is carved and put together using cube cut and polished lucite , rather than the usual jewel cut. 5.5" L x 6" H x 4" W - Lid attaches magnetically -Ships with insurance Joyce Francis is a Manhattan based artist who hand carves Lucite using twenty five different sized dentist drills in a medium referred to as "cold carving". She is self-taught. Each box or bag is a one of a kind piece of art and they are all exclusive works for the store Blue Tree. There are no embedded objects in any of her work. Joyce's purses are in the permanent collection of costume exhibits at both the Victoria Albert Museum of London and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Joyce is also the winner of the prestigious Gladys Blum Award from The National Academy of Fine Arts.
